ISTANBUL, TÜRKIYE HOTEL TEXTILE PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY

UNDERSTANDING FABRIC QUALITY

GSM, thread count, and what they actually mean.

Two numbers decide most of a guest's first impression of your linen — GSM for towels, thread count for bed linen. Here's what each range means in practice, and where our own range sits.

FOR TOWELS

GSM — grams per square meter.

The higher the GSM, the denser and more absorbent the towel. Hospitality towels typically run from a light, fast-drying weight to a dense, spa-grade plushness.

HADARA's range: 350–800 GSM
300 GSM · Lighter850+ GSM · Denser
300–400 GSM

Thin and fast-drying. Budget properties, high-turnover laundry cycles.

400–500 GSM

Standard Hotel

Everyday guest towels for mid-range properties.

500–600 GSM

Premium Hospitality

Noticeably plusher with better absorbency — a typical 4★ standard.

600–700 GSM

700–800+ GSM

Ultra-Luxury / Spa

FOR BED LINEN

Thread Count — yarns per square inch.

Thread count measures how tightly a fabric is woven. Higher counts feel smoother and drape better, up to a point of diminishing returns well above what hospitality laundry actually needs.
